Mug Shots

Shalee has "tagged" me with this new and EASY Meme, so I thought I'd 'go for it!' At 1st glance I was almost sure she wanted a different kind of mug shot, but thankfully she set me straight almost immediately!

My MUG SHOT wouldn't be complete without a double-shot cause I have my "here and now" MUGSHOT and my more "Maxx-Friendly" MUG SHOT TO GO....reflect back to Easter and the spilled coffee and you'll understand more about my own coffee antics...flashback! OUCH!

So 1st; my MUG SHOT TO GO...amidst my coffee grinder (which EVERY coffee connissuer must possess) are two variations of a theme. The first, to the right of the grinder is my standby...it is the to-go cup I've used for several months because it has a lid! The 2nd one, to the left is the new and improved version my husband found at Walgreens that is insulated so well, that it's like having one of those Starbuck sleeves on the cup and my hand NEVER even gets warm. They are expensive, but he says "I'm worth it!" and I'll have to agree (modestly, of course).

My 2nd MUG SHOT is the mug that I use at home for coffee, hot cocoa, tea, any warm drink...preferably coffee though! This is actually a replacement for one that broke (car issue again...and one of the reasons for the above MUGSHOTS). This one is not EXACTLY the same, but very, very close and my husband searched it out and found it for me to replace the original, (which is now at a landfill somewhere in Jersey)...so I cherish it not only because it's a great size, but because as with all the great things in my life, it's from my husband and I didn't have to scour the landfill's of Jersey to re-animate my favorite!

Side note: I actually have ANOTHER MUGSHOT. It's my work MUGSHOT and I couldn't bear to bring it home for fear my clumsy hands would lead to early death of said MUGSHOT. It was a gift from one of my best friends "G", and it has a women singing and dancing down a path and it also has that popular little ditty that says:
Work as if you don't need the money,
Love as if you've never been hurt,
and Dance as though no one is watching!
Now without further ado...here she is: KPJARA's HOME MUG SHOT!
Sitting atop my NEW .74 cent colorful tablecloth purchased from Target' this weekend!
So...share your MUGSHOT if you're so inclined! Let me know and i'll come see for myself!

Sadly, I do not own a coffee grinder. The unopened bag of starbucks beans in my refrigerator will confirm this! But I do love coffee, and I love all of your mug shots! I'll have to go now to read your whole sad coffee tale!

Oh, that was a sad coffee experience! But smelling like peppermint on Easter, that's not so bad! :)

Hey there...this is cute...I'll have to do this soon...

I have a "naughty mug" that is going to be tossed upon me purchasing a new "expensive" one...(I'll keep it long enough to snap it's photo...!)

This Tuesday I was wearing light tan capris with a almost new white t-shirt (almost new cause i've worn it alot but it is still without stains)...

We left the house early in the am to go to Monkey's therapy appt and then onto swim lessons...as we are pulling into the therapy lesson I look down to see the my trusty mug has been LEAKING all over the light colored clothing...my coffee is also thick with cream so it STAINS! I was a creamy coffee mess! Naughty mug! leaking out of the bottom of lid and top of cup! UGH!

Addie...no coffee grinder? How sad! and yes at least it was Peppermint coffee, not just plain old black and hot AND it's good to know coffee will come out of these beautiful Easter dresses.

Tam: I too am a 'creamer' and have found myself with the unremovable coffee stains...but those tide pens really do work on the smaller stains! I carry them with me everywhere I go. Love em'.

Don't you hate it when it's one of your 1st stops of the day that you notice these 'accidents'? UGH!

Hmmm I had a coffe incident yesterday- travelling by train- the coffee on British rail is terrible, so I made a flask and carefully wrapped it and placed it in my bag along with teaching notes etc when the dratted thing leaked over me (I was on my way to give a presentation) over all my handouts and my book I had taken to read...
I threw the stupid flask away, sponged my skirt, ditched the handouts.... thankfulluy God was in the presentation...
worst of all I had to drink British Rail coffee ugh....

Sally, your maintain such good humor in the midst of this coffee trauma speaks volumes about you! As bad as the coffee may be, when you speak of taking the 'rail' anywhere it makes me want to visit Europe (well, english speaking Europe anyway)!

Okay, I gotta throw in my 2 cents here. I have a daughter that is quickly moving up the Starbucks ladder so I can give you the dish. First of all-Addie, go to Starbucks with your beans. They will grind them for you. (pleading with you to go enjoy that wonderful bag of coffee) They won't charge you even if you bought them at another Starbucks:-) And if you really enjoy it, you can get a coffee grinder at Wal-Mart for under $15.

Second, KP, you gotta try a French Press. I got the Starbucks one for around $10...I think...less than $15 anyway. OHHHHHH you haven't tried coffee till....perked is good too. I always love coffee when we go camping because it is perked. Either way, the oils are not filtered out of the coffee and adds soooo much to the flavor! You coursely grind the beans, fill with hot water, let steep for 4 minutes (the time is important) stir and press. MMMMMMMMM I love it strictly BLACK!

Okay, now I've got a question for you. Do you have a favorite blend of coffee?

Joy M. said...

Oh yeah, you can go to Starbucks and ask them to brew you a French Press to try. They love to do that for people cause they are sure it will sell itself.

Joy: I will ask at Starbucks (next time I'm in there) how the French Press works and if it really adds that much flavor I'm willing to give it a try. I actually do have a preferred blend and as crazy as it sounds I sort of stockpile it because they only sell it in OKC during the Holidays.

My favorite blend is: Millstone Holiday Peppermint Mocha. My darling husband bought me about 20 pounds of it last year (between Nov and Jan) and I'm now down to about 3 pounds. They won't start selling it again til November. WAHHHHHHHHH! I did also buy some of the dry creamer they put out last year, but somehow I just don't think it's gonna be the same. I don't like flavored creamer...just flavored coffee, and I'm a bit picky about the flavors.

My favorite is a seasonal blend as well. This is the season:-) I don't stockpile it though because I have other flavors I like too. Gazebo is my fave and it is out right now. I love to have it with a plate full of fruit for breakfast out on the patio!
