Can You Hear Me Now?

No one said life would be fair!

I hate that saying! I really do…life should be “fair”…life should treat us all as equals. Equality in all things! Nope, unfortunately it doesn’t and COULDN’T work this way. By this age, most of us know why, I won’t write it because those of you who don’t know it yet would be so rudely awakened it would probably knock you into next week and then you’d miss an entire weekend!

I got to thinking this morning about all the sayings I HATE…Yes, it’s important to focus on the negative things first to get them out of the way! Once I can get through the mud (I’ve played mud volleyball and the first step in is the worst)…then I can move more freely or at least KNOW my limitations.

So, I’m moving trepid-ly through mud this morning while I think of the things I don’t like. Here is my list, feel free to add to it:

Bad breath…
Frankly all body odor, mine or others (no I don’t think sweaty men are sexy! YUCK)…
Peas (the green ones, once they’ve been punched and become ‘black-eyed’ I luv em’)…
Nylons falling in the crotch…
Too tight shoes…
Physical Violence…
Gunfire…
Movies I have to close my eyes in…
Gripers who won’t do anything to make change…
Ignorance…
All the isms’, sexism, racism…you get it…
Fakeness (again all fakeness, from people to cheese)…
The color brown (ironically I am wearing that color today)…
Water rings on wood…
Thoughtless comments followed by the insincere apology…
RUDE drivers…
Picketing against war while our sons are dying for our freedom…
War…
Murder…
Adultery...
Video games…
Gangsta’ Rap music…
Teachers who shouldn’t be teaching and don’t even WANT to teach…

I guess that’s a pretty good starting point…now I can move on with my morning. I saw this cool “pin” at Mardel’s the other day and it caught my eye because it had one of my ‘catchphrases’.

It said (in bright primary colors): WHATEVER!

Which is MY word…I say it ALL the time! I read on and this is WHY God allows me to continue using this word:

“Whatever is good, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything is worthy of praise, dwell on these things.” Philippians 4:8

Good thoughts for a HAPPY Wednesday!

Oh, man, I just love, love, LOVE this post.

And just to add to your Hate list... I hate people that pick their toes and then smell their fingers... IN PUBLIC. If you MUST have such an offensive habbit, do it in PRIVATE, please!

I use the word whatever all the time, too. My step-son has started saying it too. Somehow it seems disrespectful coming out of him. Maybe I should find a new word. :-) Great post!

I love this post! Fun and serious all at once... And the pin is a great idea.

And Gibee, you need to find new people with whom to hang. That was disgusting!

I would add that I hate coming home to eat my long-though-of little treat only to find that it has already been taken. I must find a new hiding place...

This post reminds me of my list of pet peeves found here: http://beneaththeivywreath.blogspot.com/2006/01/pet-peeves.html

I'm going to link back to yours if I can figure out how.
